Scanlan Memorial Cup 2024

April 20th 2024, Honor Oak Park, Guy's Hospital RFC celebrating their 180th season, 'the oldest rugby club in the world', provided a feast of rugby with recent Past v Present 1st XV and Penguins v 2nd XV in the Scanlan Memorial Cup match.

Prior to the match Paul Scanlan was remembered with a short eulogy and two minutes' silence was observed.

Full match reports to follow but the 1st XV won 60-42 in the PvP and Penguins won 42-12 against the 2nd XV. The Scanlan Cup was awarded to Pete Gretton skipper of the Penguins.

The afternoon was followed by a dinner to celebrate the 180th anniversary of GHRFC, many Members of Penguins Against Cancer were present and once again the charity was kindly supported by the club.

Thanks to the PAC Student Council for organising the raffle which raised £1260.

All monies raised are used by Penguins Against Cancer, to raise cancer awareness, grant funds to cancer research, treatment, and hospices.
