Earlier this month we were delighted to inform Imperial College London that their application, for a £5,000 grant to support a research project (Underpinning Metabolic Pathways Involved in Ovarian Cancer Drug Resistance), to the Penguins Against Cancer Ruth Prosser Women’s Cancer Research Award was successful.
It was also our great pleasure to inform The Institute of Cancer Research that their application, for a £5,000 grant to support a research project (Investigation of markers associated with Epithelial to Mesenchymal Transition to derive novel therapies for Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumours), to the Penguins Against Cancer Fergus Scholefield Cancer Research Award was successful.
The third research award is jointly funded with The Urology Foundation, (TUF) the letter and cheque were delivered personally by the President, Vice President, and Treasurer of PAC. Applications for the Chris Howell Urological Cancer Research award are open until the end of May, the successful applicant will be announced later in the year.
We are grateful to everyone who supports PAC, good luck and best wishes to all those taking part in the Penguin Peloton, May 3rd to 5th, from Guy’s Hospital Tower to Blackpool Tower.
