Penguin Peloton fun
draising for Penguins Against Cancer
Update on Day 1 from Charlie B:
The Penguin Peloton of 40 souls left Guys Hospital at 0800 on Friday 3 May.
Passing over Westminster bridge, grazing Lords cricket ground we enjoyed the delights of Maida Vale.
A quick refreshment stop was followed by a transit through the north London periphery until we met Leighton Buzzard.
A delicious lunch at the Globe Inn on the Grand Union Canal restored flagging spirits as it had rained constantly since the start.
On we ventured in the incessant rain until reaching the delights of Milton Keynes - lots of roundabouts but no concrete cows.
The ride continued with a brief tea stop after 75 miles. The rain continued. Penguins were very wet and cold but the enthusiasm remained infectious.
Eventually the Peloton reached Lutterworth to enjoy a fantastic Thai Meal provided by Mr Nuk and several pints of high quality local ale.
Tomorrow is another day. Today was 100 miles of wet cycling. It would be nice to have some Saturday sunshine.
Thanks for the update Charlie, Saturday 4th May, it's not raining. First stop at Acorns Coffee Shop.
Well done everyone in the Peloton and support teams, yesterday was tough.
