The Fergus Scholefield Memorial Cup fixture was played on the 20th January 2024 between GHRFC Penguins and a Freshers XV. The venue had to be rearranged due to a frozen pitch and the artificial grass at Grasshoppers RFC made for a hugely entertaining match.
The 44 – 44 draw meant that the Cup was retained by the Penguins as they were the current holders. The afternoon wouldn’t have been complete without Pat's Magic Raffle and Penguins Against Cancer (PAC) is delighted to receive £560, every penny will go towards the fight against cancer.
The Fergus Scholefield Cancer Research grant is one of 3 annual research awards made by PAC, the 2023 recipient was Dr J Selfe from The Institute of Cancer Research.
