AGM December 2023

The first in person meeting for a year convened at The Horseshoe Inn, near Guy's Hospital on Saturday 2nd December 2023.

Despite travel disruptions, which did cause a few apologies on the day, the Annual General Meeting was attended by Trustees, Officials and Members. The private upstairs room was full, the AGM was also joined virtually by a few who were unable to make the trip.

The full record of the meeting has been published, some notable topics included the 10th Anniversary Ball which prompted applause and comments ``Beyond Brilliant!", "Best Ball" & "Best Guy's night ever". Thanks again to Pat and Charlie for all the hard work which led to the successful fundraiser. The Landmark Hotel would be delighted to welcome us back, the gift bag for all attendees from our sponsor Elemis was appreciated by all who remembered to take them home!

Thanks were also expressed to the student helpers on the night, and to Imogen for the production of the powerful video "10 Years On" and to Jamie for setting up the online auction.

A number of Trustees ended their term at the AGM, thanks to David for managing the website since the start and to Caroline as Treasurer for many years.

Geraint was in at the deep end, taking over as Treasurer, presenting the figures prior to submission to the Charity Commission. Headline figures, £69,000 in grants disbursed, a notable £20,000 donation, and a bank balance allowing further grants and research awards to continue.

The forthcoming events are listed on the website. The Peloton planning is well underway, 40 riders of these 18 students, will be completing the ride between Guy's Hospital Tower to Blackpool Tower.

The AGM confirmed the appointment of the proposed Trustees and the Student Council for another year.

The meeting was followed by lunch, and it wouldn't be a PAC event without a raffle, which raised £155.

Thanks to The Horseshoe Inn and to everyone who attended, a successful AGM and an enjoyable social afterwards.
